ABOUT ME
I'm a 17-year old high school student and activist. I believe that one of the truest forms of activism is art and I hope to use my art to make a difference. I try to depict women of color in my art because historically we've been widely underrepresented, and when that art did feature women of color, it was often in a negative or streotypical way. I want to depict women of color as we are: strong, beautiful, brave, unique and flawed.
I name many of my pieces after influential people in my life: friends, family, and role models.
I consider myself a painter, but I also make wire sculptures and embroidery! I'm new to embroidery though so I'm still learning. I like to work with multiple medias, and other than painting, digital art is my favorite.
